2014 is an important year to ABB in Vietnam as we will celebrate our 20 year anniversary.
Many of the milestones that ABB in Vietnam has achieved are a result of the support and cooperation of the Vietnamese government, local ministries, local authorities and valued customers. You and your organization have been a strong and reliable partner of ABB. I thank you gratefully for your support.
Continuing in our cooperation, I would like to take a few minutes of your time to update you on our business situation and ABB's significant milestones in its 20 year journey.
ABB Vietnam is part of the ABB Group, a leader in power and automation technologies which operates in around 110 countries and employs about 145,000 people. Set foot in Vietnam for the first time in 1993, ABB has more than 800 employees nowaday working at various locations including our Head Office and transformer factories located in Hanoi, high voltage and medium voltage factories in Bac Ninh, and branch offices located in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
ABB in Vietnam has established itself as a reliable and competent technology partner to government, private and domestic sectors and is one of the most prestigious brand names in power and automation technology in the country. Our Transformer Factory is a world class manufacturing facility that has a strong reputation in the region with export to Southeast Asia, Australia, Middle East and Southern Africa. Our High Voltage Factory provides high tech core components for high voltage circuit breakers and delivers them to ABB factories worldwide. The High Voltage Factory was recently extended by the installation of the GIS production line. Our manufacturing facilities are at international standard and ensure the occupational health and safety for our employees.
We have taken part in serveral important and successful projects in Vietnam including Phu My Thermal Power Plant (1996), Hai Van Tunnel (2005), Uong Bi Thermal Power Plant (2007), Dung Quat Refinery Plant (2007), Tri An Hydro Power Plant (2008), Nui Phao Mining (2012-2013), etc. In each market and industrial sector, we offer our customers a dedicated and competent team of professional sales, service and engineering expertise in support of our range of systems and products. Our factories have well trained staff manufacturing products to the highest quality for both export and domestic use.
Apart from the business side, we seriously take care of Community Social responsibility with support for various organisations in Vietnam. We also continuously implement education programs, sponsoring students in the field of engineering to develop future generations of young talents.
