Having put our first steps in Vietnam market in 1993, one year ABB Joint Venture was established for manufacturing of distribution transformers in Hanoi. Today, ABB in Vietnam has more than 750 employees working across the country to maintain the national coverage with the headquarter office in Hanoi, two representative offices in Ho Chi Minh City (1994) and Da Nang (1996), and High Voltage and Medium Voltage Factories in Bac Ninh (2010). ABB has become the trusted partner of government and private business enterprises, and become one of the most prestige brands in energy and automation industry in Vietnam. "Product quality" is considered as one of the most important activity focuses of ABB in Vietnam, in response to customers' confidence in the Company's credibility.
To demonstrate ABB in Vietnam's ongoing efforts to accomplish the mission of delivering the best quality products, on 15th of March 2014, the Company proudly received the 2013 Gold Dragon Award for "High quality product", awarded by Vietnam Economic Times - the leading economic magazine in Vietnam. The annual Gold Dragon Award is one of the most prestige awards in Vietnam, praising FDI enterprises which have outstanding business achievements and great contributions to the development of Vietnam economy. Participating companies are voted by Vietnam Economic Times' audiences and the final results are decided by the leaders and senior experts in related industries. ABB is one of 78 FDI enterprises in Vietnam to be presented with the Gold Dragon Award for its excellent performance and outstanding achievements in 2013 despite challenging business environment. With a revenue growth of 7% in 2013, and well controlled operation costs, ABB in Vietnam has achieved sustainable progression in 2013.
Based on what has been gained in 2013, in this year 2014, product and service quality continues to be strengthened and improved under "systems" or "solutions" perspective, by turning into a comprehensive solution package for the end customers instead of a single product or service. At the same time, integrated consultation about those packages will be provided, in order to deliver the best products with the best quality at the most competitive price. That is what Mr. Axel Kalt - Country Manager of ABB in Vietnam shared recently. He emphasized: "We need to see the business more through the eyes of our customers, less through the eyes of a manufacturer", which indirectly proves the importance of focusing on the improvement of product and service quality that ABB offers to customers.
