The award aims at recognizing and encouraging excellent performance of organizations and individuals for the environment protection. The Vietnam National Environment Award is organized every 2 years the awards are presented on the World Environment Day, 5th June.
This year, the Vietnam National Environment Award ceremony was held in Hue City. At the ceremony, fifty organizations, individuals, and communities received awards. ABB Ltd - Bac Ninh Branch is one of the 5 foreign companies to be recognized this year. Other foreign companies included Canon (two factories), Intel, and Unilever. ABB Bac Ninh branch was the only candidate won the prize out of a 4 nominations by Bac Ninh province.
In ABB in general and BacNinh Branch in particular, waste are managed and treated carefully. All kinds of waste are classified before putting on stores and being sent to the contractor for transportation and treatment with frequent observation. Waste water is treated in close loop by the waste water reuse plant instead of discharging to the drainage system. Factories are equipped with a very good air filtering system and always ensure contamination level is lower than threshold (Vietnamese standard).
This is really good news and a great encouragement for ABB Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh Branch in particular. It will reinforce our image in the local community and in Vietnam as a leader in environmental protection.
Glory always goes with responsibility. ABB in Vietnam will continue to maintain and improve our environmental management system, according to ISO 14001, as well as conforming to Vietnam's laws on environment awareness.
