ABB is pleased to announce that we have launched a cooperation program with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) to offer a scholarship for full time second-year students of HUST's Electrical Shool of Engineering. The scholarships, offered by Jürgen Dormann Foundation (JDF) under ABB Group, aims at supporting talented students in the electrical field who might not have the means to support themselves for studying.
This is the fourth year that ABB JDF implements scholarship awards under a 3-year program which has been announced since early 2010.
For the year of 2013 - 2014, ABB JDF will continue to offer two scholarships for students of Electrical School of Engineering. HUST will recommend potentially suitable candidates through an application screening process. ABB will then review the candidacy before announcing any scholarship.
The scholarships are granted for one full-year. The ABB JDF will pay 18,000,000 VND for students in the first academic year. The ABB JDF will also be responsible for paying a one-time fee of 6,000,000 VND in the first year for computer equipment/software. ABB will take part in an annual review of the student's performance which will determine whether the scholarship is continued.
Students who receive scholarships will have the opportunity to participate in international conferences sponsored by ABB Group and be provided with help and vocational guidance in the learning process by ABB engineers in Viet Nam. However, the acceptance of the scholarship does not require the student to accept employment, if offered, by ABB after graduation.
Interested students are required to send applications to HUST's Electrical School of Engineering office between 01 April 2013 to 19 April 2013.
