ABB and CNC-Vina have officially handed over to Canon Vietnam 2 automatic production lines integrated ABB's industrial robots.
MSD (Metal Stamping Department) project has been carried out successfully by cooporation between ABB, a world leading supplier of industrial robots and CNC-Vina, a famous company in the field of machine manufacturing and automatic control in Vietnam.
This project has many complex technology requirements. The system consists of two systems; each of them uses an ABB's industrial robot IRB 1600 which automatically loads products from 400 ton weight presser to rack and unload from rack to 110 ton weight presser. This system requires stable operation with cycle time 7.5 seconds/time (5 products) and reduces errors due to operators.
This is the first big project of ABB in collaborating with CNC Vina to supply for a big customer like Canon. Therefore, during manufacturing and assembling process, ABB engineers have supports CNC-Vina in applying successfully robot technology integrating with a completed automatic controlling system and many lasted controlling equipments. After going into operation, MSD (Metal Stamping Department) system helps Canon Vietnam in reducing labour in a product line, from 6 to 2 people, at the same time, reducing defects, damages caused by operators.
After 5 months in process, with the hard spirit of CNC-Vina as well as the enthusiastic supports from ABB Vietnam, MSD system has been handed over to Canon Vietnam. Along with ABB Vietnam, CNC-Vina has successfully implemented this project which is one of strategic projects marking the success of ABB and CNC-Vina in many aspects.
MSD project is completed in collaboration, mutual support, is finished in time and successfully. Canon Vietnam commented that they highly appreciated the quality, professionalism and managing abilities displayed by CNC-Vina and ABB in this cooperation. This opens greater opportunity for ABB to bring its advanced robot technologies into the more and more popular application in Vietnamese market.
