Metalex is Vietnam's leading technology exhibition in metal fabrication. Metalex 2014 draw presence of approximately 500 international trademarks from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, and Korea.
After the opening ceremony, ABB had pleasure to welcome a VIP group together with a press group to visit ABB booth. Honourably, ABB was one of five VIP booths in the show. Visiting ABB booth, visitors got chance to had one stamp on their invitation letter in order to get a valuable gift from organizer when they had enough four stamps.
On this occasion, a full range of advanced technology of two robots- welding robot IRB 1520ID & IRB120 for assembly in electronic industry were introduced to customers. Besides, a member of ABB - Baldor motor - a North American brand in industrial motors which had been acquired by ABB recently were introduced to visitors together with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) displayed in 36sqm booth.
Welding robot model IRB 1520ID is a high precision robotic arc welder, with integrated process dressing, combining 24/7 production output with 50% lower cost of maintenance to deliver the lowest cost per weld in its class.
Another application which ABB Robotics brought to this exhibition is IRB120 for assembly in electronic industry. ABB's smallest ever multipurpose industrial robot, weighs just 25kg and can handle a payload of 3kg (4kg for vertical wrist) with a reach of 580mm. IRB 120 is used for picking demonstration parts in the complex conveyor line system. The robot also integrated with a vision system to select the right products to pick and put.
Highlights of the show were the performance of welding process from IRB 1520ID, IRB120 with product assembly and PLC demo that attracted numerous visitors' attention. The sessions gave visitors the opportunity to have a look of robot's performance directly, and see concept ABB product's efficiency.
The three day exhibition was a great chance to meet and discuss with current and potential customers. According to Metalex organiser, there was huge participation with 14,879 visitors.

Such chance helps us to promote our products in the Vietnam market as well as get more connections with customers.
