1. At present, ABB Vietnam has applied the global standards of the chemical waste management and treatment. What do you think our strong points in chemical waste transportation, storage and treatment processes?
Visiting all areas in the factory, I found that all chemical storages have own tanks with clear warning signs which are completely arranged in order. Even waste storage areas are also classified in details. This made me very surprised and impressive as it is the first time I have seen such a high standard process.
2. What is your assessment on ABB responsibility of chemical waste disposal (including the ratings of waste handling and destruction)?
ABB is not the clean energy production company, but using clean technologies in production. Although ABB is preparing to apply ISO 14000 for the factory, I am seeing ISO 14000 in ABB factory today. ABB has established an own environment department. These staffs are trained intensively in the environmental field. So they work effectively when they manage all the processes related to waste prevention and environment impact reduction. With a modern treatment process, high technologies along with strict control in every process, I think ABB have been doing very well your job and responsibilities in keeping the environment clean, green and beautiful as well. Besides, I find that ABB management has a deep concern when they work with environment department to give the best solutions for environmental protection and bad impact reduction.
3. Could you please advise ABB how to improve chemical treatment processes to have a better environment?
Bac Ninh PPHV and PPMV factory was fully invested European-advanced technologies, your chemical treatment and environmental management is running smoothly. ABB factory with relatively large area, you can plant more trees around to help the environment greener, cooler and less concrete area. If I had the opportunity to visit ABB earlier, I would have nominated ABB for the Vietnam Environment prize in 2010.
