Launched in 2009, the program involves students from mainly three schools namely Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 2, Sekolah Kebangsaan Seafield 3 and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 8. It is intended at easing the financial pressures that underprivileged families have to go through especially at the start of each year.
The contribution comprises basic necessities such as a complete set of uniform, bag, shoes and school supplies to meet the needs of every child.
In an event held on Monday, January 18, at Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 2, Jukka Poutanen, Country Managing Director, ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd, met teachers from all three schools who are involved in the program before presenting the children with their gift packs.

"The contribution means a lot to the students as most of them can't afford to buy a new pair of uniform or shoes every year. With the rising cost of living, their families are struggling to make even ends meet every month," said Encik Mohd Fairudz bin Ahmad, Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 2.
Encik Norsahizamzami bin Bagad, Senior Assistant, Students' Affairs, Sekolah Kebangsaan USJ 2 echoed the same sentiment when he added, "It is really wonderful to see the children smiling happily upon receiving their packs. We have always tried our best to help those in need and ABB Malaysia's contribution at the beginning of each year means a lot.
"Instead of being embarrassed about their old attire, the children can proudly wear their brand new uniform just like everybody else. It puts a smile on their faces apart from making them more motivated and attentive in class".
A total of 450 students have benefitted from this program to-date which underpins ABB Malaysia's commitment towards education.
