Beijing, May 4, 2012 -,ABB High Voltage Switchgear Company, a local subsidiary of ABB China, has performed strongly in overseas markets. The company has exported more than 1,000 high voltage circuit breakers ranging from 72.5kV to 550kV to 29 countries and regions, gaining the high market share in many of these markets. ABB has gained more than 50% of the market for 115kV circuit breakers in Thailand, more than 25% of the market for 123kV products in Vietnam, and more than 40% of the market share for both 300kV and 132kV products in Malaysia.
In Malaysia, ABB has successfully supplied to all three power utilities and many industrial companies. In the first quarter of 2012, ABB High Voltage Switchgear Company signed a contract with the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (State Grid of Malaysia) to supply 26 units 132kV high voltage circuit breakers to its PAPAN etc. substations. ABB's circuit breakers produced in China have also been deployed in many projects operated by Thailand Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), and many other industries projects.
High voltage circuit breakers, equipped with a protective relay unit, can extinguish fault arcs and cut load and short circuit currents when a fault occurs in the power system, ensuring the reliable transmission and distribution of high voltage power lines.
ABB has developed and manufactured high voltage circuit breakers for more than 100 years. Its products feature high reliability, a long service life and can operate in multiple working environments.
As a local joint venture, ABB High Voltage Switchgear Company was established in 1995 and has been listed among the "China Top 100 Electric Companies" for many years. The company focuses on producing high and medium voltage circuit breakers to satisfy the needs of local and overseas markets for high quality products.
