At the 14th annual industry awards event held by gongkong today, the world's leading power and automation technology group ABB received recognition in the following award categories: business management, new business mode, innovative products, sample project and hot news. Specifically, it won the "Innovative Product Prize" for four products and solutions, namely the new-type controller, IRB 8700 robot, electrical fire monitoring system and i-jia wireless smart home system, showcasing ABB's excellent innovation ability and its leading position in the automation field under the "Internet +" era.

China remains one of the world's fastest-growing economies under New Normal, although there has been a slight slowdown in its economic growth. Currently, China is vigorously boosting its economic restructuring and industrial optimization to upgrade the society from factor- and investment-driven growth to innovation-driven growth. As such, industry is transforming from being speed- and quantity-oriented to becoming quality- and benefits- oriented, which will deliver unlimited growth potential. A series of new market opportunities and growth areas have arisen from the power grid automation, new-type urbanization, the Belt and Road initiative, "Made in China 2025" strategy and "Internet +" action plan.

Jiang Haibo, Senior Vice President of ABB (China) Ltd. and Head of Process Automation Division of ABB China, said: "In the new wave of industrial revolution, countries varies in starting point and development stages. So far, China is still in the process of industrialization. However, by improving its innovation ability and industrial intelligence level, as well as accelerating industrial upgrading and transformation, China is expected to achieve intelligent upgrading. ABB hopes to support manufacture in China to move from 'big' to 'smart and strong' through its technologies in Internet of Things, Services and People (IoTSP) and local innovation strength."

2015 was the year of launching the "Made in China 2025" strategy, which focuses on the in-depth integration of new information technology and industrialization, and aims to develop and create an internationally competitive manufacturing industry by advancement in ten key fields. Among these key fields, new information technology, high-end CNC machine tools and robots, marine engineering equipment and high-tech ships, advanced rail transit equipment, energy-saving and new energy vehicles, power equipment and other fields are closely correlated with ABB's diversified business portfolios and R&D orientation. For example, in 2013, ABB established its local team to support R&D, production, logistics and service for electric vehicle charging facilities in China. In 2014, ABB started to work with BYD Daimler New Technology Co., Ltd. to build a nationwide electric vehicle charging network to support the sustainable urban transportation development.

Jiang Haibo believes the industrial internet will not limited to manufacturing but will cover a wider range of industries including utility, industry, and transport and infrastructure. By integrating things, services and people, ABB can achieve significant integration schemes and show advantages in improving production efficiency and energy efficiency. Over the past decade, ABB has been committed to advancing the development of IoTSP, and constantly developed various process control systems, communication solutions, sensors and software, so as to help users to analyze data smarter, optimize operations, improve productivity and increase flexibility. Under the concept of IoTSP, users can improve productivity by up to 30% by integrating and applying ABB's technologies.

In industrial robots and the shipping industry, for example, ABB released the world's first collaborative dual-arm robot YuMi® in 2015, and helps enterprises to optimize their production process and improve product quality and productivity through human-robot collaboration. In addition, ABB developed Octopus monitoring software specially for optimizing ship operations, which is applied in many ships built by Chinese shipyards and ensures the crew make the right decisions in deep-water operations by analyzing weather conditions through software and sensors.

In China, ABB always adheres to innovation in order to help customers to save energy, reduce emissions and improve productivity with smart technologies. In 2015 alone, ABB China's R&D team developed such innovative products as M2BAX series low-voltage motor for the China market, and Welcome IP HD series door entry system featuring highest-grade protection design, helping customers create more values in the transformation and upgrading.

With an extensive influence in China's automation field, the annual industry awards event has been held by gongkong.com consecutively for 14 years, ever since 2002. Starting in December 2015, CAMRS 2016 will choose all prize winners through the votes of online users and on-site approval of experts. Dr. Chunyuan Gu, Chairman and President of ABB China, won the "Management Prize"; Pauli Järvinen, Head of ABB Discrete Automation and Motion Division, North Asia and China, won the "Prize for Leader of Intelligent Manufacturing"; Wang Huan, ABB China's e-commerce Director, won the "Prize for Excellent Manager"; ABB Drive's support to "Water Diversion Project from Yellow River to Shanxi Province" won the "Sample Project Prize"; and ABB's delivery of the 1000th drive won the "Hotspot News Prize".

ABB is a leading global technology company in power and automation that enables utility, industry, and transport & infrastructure customers to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact. The ABB Group of companies operates in roughly 100 countries and employs about 135,000 people. ABB has a full range of business activities in China, including R&D, manufacturing, sales and services, with 18,000 employees, 40 local companies, and an extensive sales and service network across 147 cities.
