Beijing, September 25, 2012 - ABB, the world-leading power and automation technology group, has recently received the "Most Fashionable Household Products of 2012" award for its Welcome IP TCP/IP all-digital door entry system. The 2012 award marks the 4th time that Trends Home Magazine has tabbed an ABB product to win this prestigious honor.

ABB's EWA (Electrical Wiring Accessories) Uni-art series, the priOn series intelligent building control solution, and the Welcome 8 series door entry system received the same prize in 2009, 2010, and 2011 respectively.

Huang Xiang, General Manager of Marketing, ABB China Low Voltage Products Division, said, "The Welcome 8 and Welcome IP series door entry products, especially customized for the Chinese market, carry on ABB's tradition of seeking perfection in the R&D and quality of our products. The series adopts the latest technology and integrates a classical European aesthetic. With stable and comprehensive ABB intelligent building solutions, we look forward to creating a green, convenient, and secure living environment for our customers."

To meet the market demand for high-end projects, ABB further extended its smart building product line and launched the TCP/IP all-digital door entry system in 2012. Based on the TCP/IP protocol, the system simplifies networking and expands functionality. The digital community platform features door entry, security, media player and remote access, and provides unlimited space for real estate managers and third party operators. The system is also compatible with iPads/iPhones, which may be employed as a Wi-Fi expanded indoor unit. Moreover, the system seamlessly integrates with ABB's i-bus® intelligent building control system, providing comprehensive functionality, including door entry and household control, enabling users to experience high-quality smart home and communities.

ABB has continuously innovated since its first door entry product was launched in 2010. It has launched the high-end, market-oriented Welcome 8 series door entry system, the Welcome IP TCP/IP all-digital door entry and medium-end market-oriented G series, and other comprehensive door entry systems. ABB door entry systems have received favorable market feedback. Welcome 8 series products have been successfully applied in many high-end projects, such as the Superior Hotel in the Five Avenues Area in Tianjin and Peninsula Blue Bay in Sanya. With its unique functions and creative appearance as well as the visual and diversified touch screen, it provides customers with simple and convenient interface and all-day-long security.
