Shenzhen, December 22, 201 -- ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, signed a cooperation framework agreement with Shenzhen at the 2015 Signing Ceremony of Major Investment and Promotion Projects held in Shenzhen today to deepen their cooperation in the development of new energy, power protection and green transportation.
Under the agreement, ABB will support the transformation and upgrading of industry, transport and infrastructure in Shenzhen through its leading products and solutions on new energy and power protection. ABB, the world's second largest manufacturer of solar inverters, will set up an R&D and production centre on new energy in Shenzhen, focusing on developing solar inverter products. Meanwhile, ABB will actively develop fast charging solutions for electric vehicles (EV), supporting the construction of green transportation projects such as electric cars and buses, and modern trams, in order to reduce the impact on the environment and to realize sustainable development of transportation. ABB owns the world's leading technology and rich experience in EV fast charging field, and has helped to build national fast charging networks in Estonia, the Netherlands and other countries in Europe. ABB has also launched an innovative, automated, and fast charging system for electric buses, enabling them to run 24/7 and realizing zero emissions.
