Tekomar XPERT is a sustainable performance evaluation software solution that evaluates deviations and quantifies potential fuel savings to support optimal fleet performance. With actionable insights and specific recommendations, operators can achieve fuel savings that may be as high, typically, of 0.5 to 3 tons of fuel per day, per vessel.
As part of the agreement, Tekomar XPERT is being installed on the Costamare vessels Zim New York, Singapore Expressand MSC Kingston.

Tekomar XPERT analyzes the performance of any two-stroke diesel main engine, any auxiliary engine and any turbocharger for whatever configuration is found on a vessel. Advanced diagnostics, combined with intelligence, allow ship operators to immediately focus on fixing potential problems, rather than initially spending many hours analyzing them In addition to accurate power estimation, other benefits include transparency comparing equipment across an entire fleet, along with connectivity to existing and new data systems.
The sustainable propulsion performance monitoring solution is already used by over 1,000 ships. It is part of the ABB Ability™ portfolio, harnessing the power of digitalization with connection to the vessel optimization system and ABB's Collaborative Operations Centers for the marine sector. This combines the collective expertise of ABB in marine propulsion, optimization, advisory, and turbocharging with digital connectivity.
An intuitive upgrade of Tekomar XPERT will be showcased at Posidonia, the international shipping exhibition, from 4-8 June, 2018 in Athens, Greece. The upgrade enhances the software, with popular existing features kept for consistency and complemented by user-focused improvements.
Tekomar XPERT was launched by ABB Turbocharging at Marintec in Shanghai after being acquired from Tekomar Group Ltd., headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, in 2017.
