ABB wins 4 industry awards presented by China’s leading automation portal

Beijing, February 18, 2013 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, recently won in 4 award categories at the 11th annual industry event held by Gongkong, a leading portal in the China automation industry. As an important award in China's automation industry, the annual Gongkong Automation Awards have been held for 11 consecutive years. The selection process started in October 2012 and the winners were selected through online voting from ten thousands of people and a two-month assessment by more than 10 experts from industries including oil, power, metal, and rail.

Joining hands with industry leaders in a call for new policies on energy efficiency

In September, 2012, the Chinese government issued a national compulsory standard on motor energy efficiency-GB18613-2012. Under the standard, all motors sold in the Chinese market have to achieve minimum energy efficiency requirements. Shanghai ABB Motors Company was the first to announce plans for high-efficiency motors and execute the new national standard for energy efficiency in the industry.
Shanghai ABB Motors Company later signed strategic cooperation agreements for high-efficiency motors with dozens of other industry leaders and called for more involvement of manufacturers, users, and government departments, advancing the process of high-efficiency motors in China and increasing their market share. Last June, ABB held its annual Automation World event in Shanghai, themed "Industrial Upgrade & Services." Low-voltage products plus online systems help customers quicken product selection

In August 2012, ABB officially launched its new OC series cam switch, as well as Camweb2, the world's only online customization tools. With the free online Camweb2, the system can automatically display matching product models and relevant descriptions, thus avoiding the cumbersome and complicated selection process for customers. Meanwhile, the system can automatically generate product designs and prices, greatly reducing the work of designers.
