ABB wins eight automation industry awards presented by China’s leading automation portal

Beijing, February 21, 2012 -ABB, a top 500 company, recently won 8 award categories at the 10th annual industry awards event held by Gongkong, a leading portal in the China automation industry. ABB received recognition in award categories including hot news, innovative product, sample project, service market innovation, marketing innovation, management, best employer, and channel innovation, top in category number among all participants.

The Management Award winner, Joachim Braun, head of the Process Automation division, ABB North Asia and China, said, "ABB is committed to localization development in China, actively introducing leading technology, cultivating talent, improving management, and driving marketing innovation and customer service. We are extremely proud to have received so many honors. It demonstrates the full recognition from industry experts and customers for us."

In China, ABB attaches great importance to attracting, fostering, and retaining talent while expanding its local management team. ABB's PV300 inverter, designed for PV systems for home, business, and industrial projects, and the Eden sensor, tailored for doors and windows, both received the Innovative Product Award.

ABB IndustrialIT AC800F DCS systems have been deployed in the three large blast furnaces of Xuanhua Iron and Steel Group to help the customer monitor, control, and measure the whole production process, improving the automation level of its equipment while lowering the maintenance cost. This project was honored with the Sample Project Award.

The ABB Low Voltage Products division is committed to developing an advanced service platform to provide customized service to customers while making the service transparent and timely. These efforts helped the ABB low voltage team win the Service Market Award.

In 2011, ABB held its "ABB Low Voltage Cup" online contest, helping electrical engineers better understand ABB's low voltage technology and products. A total of 4,684 participants participated in the contest and more than 2,000 pieces of constructive advice were received. This project was honored with the Marketing Innovation Award for its creativity and achievement.

In addition, as the long-term channel agents for ABB, Shenzhen Cumark Technology Company and Beijing CECC Technology Company both received the Channel Innovation Award for their strong performance and service capability.

As an important award in China automation industry, the annual Gongkong Automation Awards have been held for 10 consecutive years. This year, the contest reviewed a total of 9,818 new products, 10,178 news items, and 4,115 cases. The winners were selected through a process of online voting from ten thousands of people and one-month assessment of 13 experts from different industries including oil, power, metal, and rail.
