For 34 years, Working Mother has honored the “100 Best Companies for Women in India” for offering programs and policies that nurture an eco-system for the employees to succeed at work and beyond. The list represents the progressive and forward-thinking companies that create a work environment where women can advance, thrive and take up leadership roles. AVATR The Power of Diversity was setup in 2000, in India, for extensive work in the space of Diversity and Inclusion, specifically on women’s workforce and second career opportunities for women. Working Mother partners with AVTAR, led by Dr Saundarya Rajesh.
The survey for “100 Best Companies for Women in India” had participation from 357 companies, across industry verticals. ABB India was acknowledged and recognized for its consistent commitment to being gender inclusive across its corporate operations and processes.
The categories for the award are '2019 Exemplar of Inclusion' in the Most Inclusive Companies in India Index’ and ‘Top 100 Best Companies For Women in India 2019’ for the initiatives like 20 percent lateral female recruits, 60 percent female university hires and a special ‘re-board’ program that facilitates hiring former women employees. As a result, the diversity representation increased from 9 percent in 2017 to 11.2 percent in 2019.
To prepare leaders for tomorrow who are inclusive, several training programs on unconscious bias, Women Leadership Development Program (RISE) were launched. Trailblazers Award for Diversity was announced to recognize and acknowledge individuals, teams that passionately drive diversity in the work space.
