ABB AbilityTM Verification for measurement devices is a condition monitoring tool that guides customers through maintenance and produces results up to four times faster than manual testing. It is designed to verify a whole portfolio of instrumentation devices, providing customers with a universal solution that confirms health status and streamlines service. The solution will help engineers move from a preventative to predictive maintenance approach.

The digital health check for measurement devices is possible without process interruption
ABB's verification tool helps anticipate problems and enables the transition from preventive to predictive maintenance
With automated testing of devices built in, the quality and consistency of measurements are improved, leading to better results on the production floor. The demand on customer personnel is reduced, resulting in higher workforce productivity. Unexpected downtime due to insufficient maintenance is eliminated, facilitating greater operational efficiency.
“ABB continues to leverage its digitalization expertise to equip customers with the value-added solutions they need to stay competitive in Industry 4.0” said Christine Declerck, Global Product Group Manager for Service, ABB Measurement & Analytics. “By using the data gathered by our ABB Ability™ Verification application the customer can obtain a clear picture of what is installed and how it is performing. Detailed observation can give early warning of a possible system failure. As a result, maintenance engineers can anticipate problems and take planned remedial action in advance, thereby moving from preventative to predictive maintenance.”
With several levels of access, the ABB Ability™ Verification for measurement devices can meet each customer’s specific needs, providing the best possible check of performance and health without removing the product. ABB’s AquaMaster, ProcessMaster, Sensyflow, SwirlMaster, VortexMaster and WaterMaster are among the devices that can be verified, with more being added. Features such as Fingerprint on Demand, an automated test procedure and instant on-site results make the ABB Ability™ Verification for measurement devices intuitive and easy to use.
The new software forms part of the cloud-based ABB Ability™ digital platform. Ultimately, data from any of a user’s installed instruments and analyzers will be available to view online via the myABB business portal, which provides a complete list of devices linked to the customer sites they are installed at and recommends services at defined intervals. With this information, customers can access ABB assistance in a range of areas such as maximizing product lifecycles, better management of spare parts and providing easy access to installation manuals and data sheets.
