The new control panels with 7”, 10.4” and 15” screens provide comprehensive HMI functions for a wide range of applications. The bright, rugged and user-friendly touch screens display information clearly. Robust aluminum front frames ensure IP66 protection. The all black front foil is perfectly suited for multiple applications either in landscape or portrait format. CP600 2nd generation control panels ensure reliable operation in a wide environmental temperature range of 0…+60 °C. Two Ethernet interfaces support up to two networks with different physical layers (PHY). Thanks to the OPC UA server and client protocol, the CP600 2nd generation is well prepared for TSN connectivity. A serial port simplifies integration of products without network interfaces. USB ports and SD cards facilitate backups and system updates.
Like the other control panels of the CP600 platform, the CP600 2nd generation control panels are fully compatible with ABB’s AC500 and AC500-eCo PLCs, display information clearly and ensure reliable operation including all usual HMI functions such as alarm management, schedulers, recipes, trends, data acquisition, gateway functions or user management. These new control panels feature the same front dimensions, cutouts, screen resolutions and interfaces as the current CP600 panels and can therefore boost performance significantly.
The CP600 2nd generation can be configured and programmed with Panel Builder 600, which allows the easy creation of graphical HMI pages. This powerful programming tool offers numerous configuration options, which can be complemented by JavaScript for the easy design of tailor-made user interfaces. It provides libraries of ready-to-use vector graphics and a rich set of widgets so that applications can be designed efficiently. This tool features an HMI simulator for efficient set up either offline or online. HTML5 pages enable easy remote access to HMI applications via smartphones or other mobile devices.
”The CP600 2nd generation is the new highlight of our control panel platform. With screen sizes of 7”, 10.4” and 15”, reliable single-touch operation, a wider environmental temperature range of 0 °C to 60 °C and two ETH interfaces these new panels are first choice for a vast range of applications even in harsh environments. Moreover, the device is prepared for new communication standards,” says Wolfgang Zimmermann, Product Manager, ABB. “ABB’s product portfolio gives machine builders and system integrators peace of mind because they know future requirements will be covered.”
