ABB Solar Charges-up for Intersolar with Complete Sun-to-Socket Portfolio

As the solar market shifts towards new cost-effective platforms to maximize ROI and reduce CAPEX and OPEX costs, ABB Solar will be showcasing its highly-charged portfolio of inverter and storage solutions at this year’s Intersolar on 20- 22 June in Munich, stand 210 Hall B2

Drawing on its 40-year heritage and its expansive global knowledge, ABB Solar will deliver a series of sun-to-socket innovations which bring together digitalization, scalability and efficiency.

These new solutions provide the most comprehensive range of Solar products for power generation and building applications, along side future-proof solutions for solar and energy storage in residential sectors.

The pioneering PVS string inverter range will take centre stage as it delivers a six-in-one, high voltage solution for both large-scale commercial and industrial ground mounted and rooftop applications.

As part of its commitment to design products and solutions which bring down the whole system costs for solar installations, ABB will also launch to the market its 1500VDC high power string inverter with the highest power rating in this class.

In line with market trends which are moving towards higher voltages and higher power classes / ratings, the PVS series enables installers to take advantage of greater performance efficiencies, scalability, flexibility, reduced environmental impact and improved reliability.

The new 1500VDC string inverter is also shortlisted in the Product of Year Category at the prestigious Intersolar awards. Winners will be announced on the evening of 20th June at the event.

Also on-show, will be ABB’s new REACT 2 energy storage solution which includes a long-life battery and provides the largest residential storage capacity available of up to 12 kWh. The REACT 2 storage solution delivers up to 10 percent greater efficiencies in energy usage than lower voltage alternatives, along with greater cost savings.

With its modular design, REACT 2 is cutting home energy costs by up to 90 percent and making it faster and more cost effective to harness solar energy.

It is also compatible with ABB’s free@home and can be integrated with home automation systems and even EV solutions such as the new ABB AC Wallbox, which enables Prosumers to charge vehicles with energy harnessed from the sun. REACT 2 provides complete 360° visibility which gives home owners total control over their solar energy usage.

At Intersolar 2018, ABB Solar will also set the bar in terms of driving solar digitalization through its proprietary management platform ABB Ability™. In a world of smart solutions and connectivity, ABB Solar will demonstrate how inverter products in the PVS series and storage solutions such as REACT 2 both take advantage of intelligent control through digitalization tools which can manage the overall system efficiency and all the interactions within it, to deliver the next generation solar power plant.
