The ABB North America Transformers business unit will host the first Red TIE customer training event of 2013 on April 16 in Toronto, Canada at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel and Conference Center, Mississauga, ON. The one-day seminar provides customers training on topics they select as well as networking time with ABB experts.
The Transformers business unit has built on a successful formula for hosting a popular series of one-day customer training and networking events that started in 2008. The so-called "Red TIE (Technical Information Exchange) Events" continue to satisfy the needs of its transformer customers.
The most recent Red TIE event drew 60 customers from 14 organizations. Customers attending were from a variety of businesses including Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs), Public Power as well as Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPCs). Typically consultants are in attendance as well.
The Red TIE format consists of six one-hour training seminars led by BU Transformers subject matter experts. Seminar topics in Toronto will include:

ABB has planned four other Red TIE events in four different cities across North America in 2013, offering customers technical training on specific transformer topics they themselves select in advance from a list of 14 different topics.
The next event is a special Wind Power Applications Red TIE scheduled in conjunction with the AWEA WINDPOWER Conference in Chicago, IL, on Sunday May 5, 2013. This special half day training program will consist of the following presentations:
