The ABB facility in Bland, Virginia reached a milestone in their 40-year history, producing the 50,000th dry-type transformer on January 25, 2013.
Herb Grant, Vice President and General Manager celebrated the milestone by highlighting the long history of dedication and quality efforts by all ABB employees in Bland and gave special recognition to three employees who were with the company when the first transformer shipped in 1973 and continue to be a part of the team for transformer number 50,000. Charlie Sarver, Wayne Lambert and Carol Blankenship were the second, third and fourth employees hired in Bland forty years ago.
Additionally, Grant presented a banner to the assembled workforce that read, "Thank you! 50,000th Transformer produced at ABB Bland!"
