Improving customer relationships with roadshows

In recent months different transformer roadshows took place in Europe to present the ABB transformer technologies to customers.

After a successful first tour in Germany in autumn last year, the second RESIBLOC Roadshow (www.abb.com/resibloc-tour) took place in the Baltic States in May 2012. This time Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius were the destinations of the ABB experts. In total, around 60 customers got the opportunity to gain a detailed overview of the different dry-type transformer technologies.

During half-day seminars different transformer experts presented selected aspects about the RESIBLOC and vacuum cast coil transformer technologies. In addition, the energy-efficient and environmentally friendly EcoDry transformer solution was shown. There was also a focus on the topics of TriDry, HiDry and other dry-type technologies. At the same time, the opportunity was used to network with customers .

In a similar concept, but with many more stops, the Swedish Front End Sales (FES) colleagues met 300 customers within three months. Front End Sales drove a specially equipped small truck to selected ABB places in Sweden. They offered the latest technology news with presentations on a screen, sitting on the sofas in the truck.

"This was a unique opportunity to meet with customers in more relaxed conditions," noted Malin Ajax, Power Products / Power Systems FES.

Both roadshows were rated very positively. The already good relationship has been strengthened because of the direct dialogues which are an important point in today's fast moving working environment.
