ABB's new TriDry transformer concept revolutionizes new thinking in the field of dry-type transformers. The TriDry (the with its name derived from the word "triangular") is characterized by triangular construction of its core.

In addition to the classical advantages offered by a dry-type transformer, its symmetrical construction also ensures that no-load losses, footprint, weight, noise emissions, inrush current, harmonics content and stray magnetic fields are reduced. The triangular transformer is yet another product by which ABB makes a meaningful contribution towards enhanced eco-compatibility and climate protection.
At the five-day Hanover Fair, almost 300 contacts were recorded on the subject of transformers, with two-thirds of the visitors expressing keen interest in the TriDry!
The TriDry will be offered beginning in July or August in the most widely used ratings of 400, 630, 800 and 1000 kVA, with voltages of 10.0/0.40 kV, 11.0/0.42 kV, 20.0/0.4 kV and 22.0/0.42 kV, and a delivery time of just two weeks. ABB is confident the two week delivery time will prove to be a crucial competitive advantage. The short delivery time is achieved by virtue of a sophisticated warehousing system.
