MRSK (in English: "Interregional Distribution Grid Company of North-West") is a utility which serves a territory of 1.58 million sq. km with a population of nearby 6.3 million people.
The "Corporate Presentation Day" is a seminar held by MRSK in St. Peterburg, in which the company and its design institute invite major international players in the energy business together with local manufacturers to present their product portfolio and new solutions. More than 50 people attended this event between chief technology officers, chief engineers and substations managers, and a number of products were presented including power transformers, high and and medium voltage switchgears, etc
ABB's participation included presentations on its innovative high-voltage hybrid switchgear PASS modules and the DCB (Disconnecting Circuit Breaker).

The Plug And Switch System (PASS) is a hybrid module that combines the benefits of AIS and GIS technologies, including the functions of an entire switchgear bay in a single module, pre-assembled and pre-tested at the factory.

The PASS M0 H is a further step ahead in this concept, offering a complete high voltage switchyard with an 'H' configuration as a single product, while the MFM (Multi Functional Modules) is a new modular concept for building complete bays including high and medium voltage switchgear, power transformer, local control etc.. The PASS family thus offers a range of modules fully assembled and tested in the factory and it's designed for easy transportation and installation.
The PASS and DCB product managers in Russia held a presentation explaining all the features of these products.
«Innovative products of ABB company allow to have a different view on substation's design and construction, significantly reducing the area of the switchgear itself, as well as installation and commissioning time on site» , said Dmitry Bukata, Deputy General Manager of MRSK.
The day saw the prize for the most innovative solution going to ABB, a significant award through which our customer recognizes our partnership in building a strong and innovative power grid in the near future.
ABB (www.abb.com) is a leader in power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact. The ABB Group of companies operates in around 100 countries and employs about 150,000 people.
