The program is fully funded and administered by ABB in Saudi Arabia for the two-year study period in Sweden including accommodation, transportation allowances, medical insurance, food allowance, books and round trip ticket.

His Excellency Jan Knutsson, the Swedish ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attended the felicitation ceremony held at ABB head office on Wednesday to announce this year's scholarship winner.

On behalf of the ABB management, Country HR Manager Zeid Al-Rumaihi expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Jan Knutsson and the Swedish government for their continued support in making the scholarship program a great success year after year.

"It is fundamental to our business strategy to provide better chances to Saudi engineering graduates to grow in their chosen fields," Zeid Al-Rumaihi stated. "Despite the challenging recent market situation we continued with our scholarship program with the aim to bring out more talented local engineers thereby enhancing the electrical knowledge in the country which is integral for the country to achieve the year 2030 vision laid out by the Saudi leadership," he further stated.

ABB in Saudi Arabia has integrated corporate social responsibility into our everyday business to contribute to sustainable economic development. We have been always focusing on investing in local talents as our CSR program to support them to be part of the country's future development. Furthermore, we have been providing technical and corporative training to students from various technical universities in the kingdom to develop job skill alongside academic studies, said the country HR manager.

Educational opportunities are abundant in Sweden and the high standards in the educational field there have inspired us to choose the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm and Chalmers University in Gothenberg for sending our students for higher studies, Zeid Al-Rumaihi further stated.

This is the ninth successive year ABB has been sending Saudi engineering graduates on scholarship to pursue their master's degree in engineering in Sweden, he added. KTH is the largest and the oldest technical university in Sweden, and Chalmers is one of the top universities in Europe.

"The scholarship program is a very competitive one. This will help bring Saudi perspective to Sweden and Swedish know-how to the kingdom. I am really honored to be part of this felicitation ceremony," Ambassador Jan Knutsson said. He congratulated this year's scholarship winner and hoped that more of such programs happen in the future and more Saudi students make use of this opportunity.
