ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announces a price increase for some relays manufactured at its facility located in Coral Springs, Florida, USA. The adjustments are the result of continued cost inflation in sub-components, raw materials used in the manufacture of these components and rising costs associated with labor costs, security and environmental regulations.
ABB continues to minimize the impact of increased costs to customers through cost reduction projects. However, the costs must be passed through to ensure ABB's ability to serve our customers with the highest quality and service. ABB will continue to deliver the highest quality and value to our customers while remaining competitive in the market.
Some relay types will have higher price increase than others due to cost of lower sales volumes and the continuation to manufacture the legacy relays. Increase will range from 3% to 20% depending upon material content, direct labor content, and volume of sales.
List price on these specific product lines will increase by the following amounts and will become effective on all orders beginning May 1st, 2018.
| DPU2000R | 10% |
| Microshield O/C | 20% |
| Micro51 | 10% |
| Relion | 3% |
| EM relays: CO, COHILO, SC, SC1, MG6 & SG | 12% (All other Electromechanical types 7%) |
| REA products | 3% |
Prices on outstanding negotiations will remain valid for orders placed by April 30, 2018. Existing blankets and agreements will remain valid until their expiration date, unless contacted by the factory. At this time there is no price increase on the standard Flexitest (FT) Test Switch, COM600, Powershield and the Solid State product family.
ABB greatly appreciates your understanding and support during this time of material cost inflation. Please be assured that we will continue to improve our efficiencies and reduce costs while striving to provide customers with a high quality product and service.
