ABB's product and service offering was well represented in the International Exhibition of Electricity Telecommunication Light and Audio Visual in Jyväskylä, Finland in February. Thousands of professionals and students visited the trade fair where Strömberg Oy (currently ABB Finland) celebrated its 125th anniversary.

Smart grid solutions such as reliable distribution, accurate fault management and fast power restoration were demonstrated at the ABB Medium Voltage Products stand.

ABB's medium voltage switchgear UniGear Digital is an innovative smart grid solution. Its advanced design and components help reduce commissioning time and minimize environmental impact. Sales manager Timo Vedenjuoksu from ABB introduces the UniGear Digital concept to the visitors.
The use of IEC 61850 keeps the switchgear instrumentation compartment free of cable entanglement. Modern technology improves fault location and isolation, and power restoration.
At the exhibition, ABB showcased the newest member of the Relion product family, the 620 protection and control series, for the first time in Finland.
Many of the visitors were already familiar with the popular Relion 615 series and were now attracted by the 620 products. The key message of the 620 and 615 series is their capability to fully support redundant substation communication solutions.

ABB's grid automation solutions caught the interest of the visitors. Sales Manager Jarkko Holmlund from ABB introducing the new control cabinet for load-break switches.
The control cabinet equipped with the dedicated grid automation IED (intelligent electronic device) REC615 and the wireless gateway RER601.
Sales Manager Joakim Hjort from ABB explaining the benefits and features of the control cabinet to interested students.
Solutions Manager Sören Mattbäck from ABB demonstrating remote control with the grid automation demo system InGRID. InGRID shows the cooperation between different intelligent network components, fast fault management, and reliable wireless communication between the components and the MicroSCADA Pro/DMS 600 systems, over either public or private networks.
ABB’s lifecycle services were presented in the exhibition. All the necessary information on life-cycle services for distribution protection and control relays is now available in one page. Not only can the challenge of searching scattered information be avoided, but the new approach benefits especially end customers with no previous access to such information.
Clionet® Data Care and Clionet® Online Service dropcards were handed out.
ABB’s Distribution Management System (DMS) extends traditional SCADA capabilities to include advanced fault management and reporting.
