More than 400 guests attended the event, including Xu Xiaoxiong, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangmen Municipal Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor of Jiangmen Municipal Government, Guangdong Province, government officials from Xinhui District, Dr. Gu Chunyuan, Chairman of ABB China and President of the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region of ABB Group, James Zhao, lead business manager for ABB Electrification business in China, Allen He, Hub Asia manager of Smart Power, Deng Hongxiang, Chairman and General Manager of Guangdong Daguangming Group Co., Ltd and distributors from all over the country.
ABB Xinhui was established in 1995 and was jointly financed by ABB (China) Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Daguangming Group Co., Ltd. It is part of ABB’s Electrification business and one of ABB's global low-voltage product manufacturing bases. Since 1995, with bold innovations, consistent pursuit of R&D, active business expansion, and technological modernization of production lines, ABB Xinhui has successfully developed a series of protection and control products with excellent quality and comprehensive function for the Chinese market. These have been widely used in urban and rural construction, in industry and in public utilities, including the the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the Shanghai World Expo, the Guangzhou Tower and the Beijing Daxing International Airport.
"Along with China's economic boom, ABB Xinhui has made remarkable progress over its 25-years of development and has become the industry benchmark for distribution protection and control products. Adhering to the strategy of "In China, for China and the world", ABB Xinhui has participated in the construction of many key national projects and has strongly supported the digital transformation and upgrading of industries. None of these developments would have happen without the robust support of local government and partners, our customers' trust and the dedication of all employees," said Dr. Gu Chunyuan at the ceremony.
Over the past 25 years, ABB Xinhui has developed from a domestic single-category producer to a fully-fledged enterprise with multi-category capabilities. At the same time, guided by ABB Group's digital strategy, ABB Xinhui has made a digital transformation of its own facility’s power distribution network. It is estimated that the digital upgrade to the ABB AbilityTM Electrical Distribution Control System (EDCS) and the use of renewable energy will save RMB 1 million per year in electricity costs.
During the celebration, ABB showcased its upgraded smart power distribution, motor start-up and protection solutions. The basic, enhanced and advanced versions are designed to meet different customer needs, including ABB smart power distribution solutions applicable to the primary power distribution of the distribution cabinet and the secondary power distribution of the enclosure. Part of the solution is the ABB TruONE ATS, which can reduce the installation time by 80 percent and the switching time to as low as 50ms. It can also access ABB AbilityTM cloud services. The advanced version of the motor start-up and protection solution includes Tmax XT molded case circuit breakers and Ekip M Touch LRIU, which can be intelligently and predictably operated through data analysis and equipment interconnection.
