ABB’s New Dodge® ISNX hydraulic bearing offers quick installation and removal

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, is pleased to introduce the Dodge ISNX hydraulic mounted spherical roller bearing, a new product ideally suited for large bulk material handling conveyors.

The Dodge ISNX hydraulic bearing features a patented integral hydraulic adapter mounting system that makes this bearing fast and easy to install and remove. The bearing simply slides into position and hydraulic pressure quickly mounts the bearing onto the shaft. One installed, the full shaft contact reduces or eliminates fretting corrosion. The bearing is removed by applying pressure to the dismount piston to push the bearing off the adapter sleeve.

“Because the bearing has a built in hydraulic mount and dismount nut, it very easy to install,” says Jim Madsen, Product Manager for Dodge spherical roller bearings. “Normal installation or removal can be accomplished in 15 minutes or less, without using feeler gauges or any other special tools. The ISNX hydraulic bearing is factory assembled, sealed and lubricated and is ready to install out-of-the box. Not only does this save time, but also eliminates any issues with contamination or bearing clearances that can impact bearing installation, life and performance.”

The Dodge ISNX hydraulic bearing features a dual sealing system to ensure longer bearing life by reducing contaminants. This combination of a triple-lip seal with an auxiliary LOR seal, ensure that contaminants can’t penetrate the bearing cavity, making the ISNX the ideal bearing for dirty and dusty harsh environments.

Dimensionally interchangeable with SD 3100 dimensioned bearings, the Dodge ISNX hydraulic bearing is available from 150 mm to 360 mm bore sizes.
