The ABB Channel Conference took place in Melbourne on March 11th – 12th at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The theme of the conference was ‘Innovate. Collaborate. Grow.’
It was a wonderful opportunity for more than 120 representatives from ABB’s Channel Partner community to learn about the latest ABB innovations. There were more than 27 product demo units on display covering technologies from all five of ABB’s businesses, including ABB Motion. More than 24 workshops were held across the two days.
Launch of ABB Ability™ Digital PowerTrain
A highlight of the ABB Channel Conference was the launch of the ABB Ability™ Digital PowerTrain for condition monitoring. The display was built by ABB Motors & Generators Channel Partner, A1 Electrical.
ABB Ability™ Digital PowerTrain optimises the performance and efficiency of rotating equipment. It comprises of ABB Ability™ Smart Sensors for motors, bearings and pumps that monitor various parameters such as heat and vibration in order to determine the health of the equipment. Many ABB Ability™ Smart Sensors have already successfully been deployed to customers across many industry segments, including food and beverage, mining and water.

ABB Motion Channel Partners scoop 3 awards
The ABB Drives and Motors Channel Partners were presented with 3 of the 12 awards on offer.
The team at A1 Electrical were granted the award for ‘Best Performance - Food and Beverage Sector.’ Chris Cheong from A1 Electrical was on hand to collect the award.
Ahmad Amiri accepted the award for ‘Technical Distributor – Highest Sales’ on behalf of the team at High Technology Control (HTC).
Remtron received the award for ‘Channel Partner – Best Performance Water & Wastewater Sector. Adrian Matthews from Remtron collected the award.
