China welcomes ABB technologies for future community creation

Electric vehicle charging and home automation solutions from ABB support Ao Zheng Cheng Yuan realize its vision for intelligent residential developments

Supporting China’s sustainable development objectives, ABB is perfectly matching its world-leading technologies with local market demands to help Ao Zheng Cheng Yuan, near Qingdao city of Shandong province, become an example of safe, smart and sustainable community creation.

The global leader in electrification has supplied 1,600 AC electric vehicle chargers for residents of the Ao Zheng Cheng Yuan project, the largest ABB AC charger order to date, alongside its ABB i-bus® KNX smart home solutions for the developments’ 260 boutique residences.

Funded and developed by Linyi Ao Zheng Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., the Ao Zheng Cheng Yuan project features the North Block, comprising 1,280 homes, including the boutique residences. Meanwhile, the South Block offers an additional 1,200 homes.

“We wanted to offer our residents an intelligent, welcoming and tranquil living space with the option to reduce their impact on the environment by driving in a more sustainable way. By deploying ABB’s industry leading smart home solutions and installing its EVinn AC chargers, we are giving residents exactly that option.

“This combination of solutions represents an innovative concept across China; a high-end and fully smart eco-community which we hope will serve as an example for future Chinese residential developments.” Said Mr. Liu, General Manager of Linyi Ao Zheng Real Estate Development Co., Ltd.

Sustainable mobility solutions in practice

Meeting the requirement for the highest quality residential charging solution, ABB’s EVinn 7Kw intelligent AC chargers have been installed across 1,600 parking spaces of the Ao Zheng Cheng Yuan development.

Integrating capabilities such as digital billing, remote monitoring and maintenance, ABB’s EVinn AC charger offers a fully intelligent and user-friendly experience. The ability to remotely schedule charging times in advance also means that residents can take advantage of non-peak electricity prices, reducing charging costs by up to 35 percent. Meanwhile, with safety a key consideration, the EVinn charger has built-in 30mA leakage protection to fully safeguard users.

Luxurious living in an intelligent home

ABB i-bus® KNX allows residents to control multiple applications across the home including lighting, blinds, air conditioning, radiant floor heating and air quality sensors. Furthermore, the ancillary ABB i-bus® KNX sensor PEONIA® is a smart panel which supports several HMI functions such as voice control, proximity sensing and motion sensing indicators.

The 260 boutique homes also feature the stylish Xuanzhi switch and socket series, providing intelligent control of the environment in each room while complimenting the high-end finish in these luxurious spaces.

According to James Zhao, Lead Business Manager, Electrification Business, ABB China, e-mobility and smart home solutions are profoundly changing how we live, and those companies proactively embracing these changes will shape the future of Chinese residential developments. Zhao comments: “We believe that Ao Zheng Group will ride the wave of changes and stay ahead of the game.
