ATEX Zone 2 certification is immediately available on the TropOS 6420-XA wireless mesh router from ABB. The ABB TropOS 6420-XA provides high reliability, security and performance in extreme outdoor application environments like Oil & Gas, Mining, Chemical Plants and Utilities. It comes with an industrial grade specification including operation in extreme temperatures -40 to +75 degrees C, shock and vibration rating, salt fog rust resistance, IP67 weather rating and wind resistance to 165 mph.
Now with ATEX Zone 2 added the 6420XA can be deployed in Zone 2 designated areas in Europe and in other regions adopting the ATEX classification. Complementing the TropOS 6420-XA is the TropOS 2420 wireless mesh edge node for DIN-rail mounting inside a cabinet. Incorporating a managed four-port Ethernet switch, voltage and contact closure monitoring for cost effective and highly secure IP communications. The TropOS 2420 is ATEX Zone 2 certified. It can also be deployed inside a third party ATEX Zone 1 certified enclosure. Click here to view the test report.
