On June 9th, Embassy of Sweden in China and China-Sweden Hammarby Eco City Alliance jointlyheld an event on Chinese and Swedish collaboration on sustainable cities, and celebrated its one-year anniversary. The event is the fifth in the series of highly successful conferences focusing on Nordic opportunities amid China’s rapid urban development. Its aim is to promote cooperation, the exchange of experiences and business opportunities between the Nordics and China, especially for those related to the urban environment, health, and wellbeing.
Helena Sangeland, Swedish Ambassador to China, Lennart Nilsson, Counsellor of Economic and Trade Affairs of Swedish Embassy in China, Jesper Jos Olsson, White Peak Group CEO and Founding Partner and ZZ Zhang, Senior Vice President of ABB Group and Managing Director of ABB China, and IKEA attended and exchanged views on the importance of green and sustainable development in China's eco-city construction and operation, consumers‘ awareness of sustainable development and the future of the Alliance.
In May 2019, the Alliance was officially established in Yantai, China. Designed and developed in compliant with Hammarby Eco City in Sweden, Yantai Hammarby Eco City project was officially launched at the sametime. Members of the Alliance are Business Sweden, White Peak, the largest European residential property developer in China and builders and entrepreneurs. As a technology leader in Electrification, Industrial Automation, Motion, and Robotics & Discrete Automation, ABB will provide the project with intelligent products and solutions to help optimize energy allocation and utilization of buildings.
