ABB and Green.TV launch World EV Day ‘drive electric’ pledge campaign

One month ahead of World EV Day’s global celebration of e-mobility, consumers are invited to make an online pledge that their next vehicle will be electric.


The inaugural World EV Day (September 9th), being launched by ABB and Green.TV, will be a day of global e-mobility appreciation. Reaching out to current and prospective drivers of electric vehicles (EVs), World EV Day is designed to generate increased consumer awareness about the benefit of EVs, putting driving electric at the top of the agenda.

World EV Day will ask drivers to commit to an online pledge to make their next car an electric vehicle. This will be a tangible demonstration of how World EV Day will encourage recognition of the crucial role that electric vehicles play in driving forward sustainable transport.

This initiative will fuel wider adoption of EVs in Canada, which already is the 10th fastest adopter of EVs in the world according to EY. Overall EV sales surged by 32 percent, after the federal government announced a EV rebate program last year. Given the right incentives, Canadians are increasingly likely to shift to EVs and contribute to the nation’s efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
