ABB plant receives state-wide safety recognition

ABB is pleased to announce its gear plant in Belton, South Carolina has been recognized by the State of South Carolina as a 2020 Safety Award Recipients. This annual recognition allows the State to highlight employers in the state, both large and small, and the success of their safety and health programs.

This is the fifth year in a row the Belton plant has been named a Palmetto Shining Star by the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. In order to receive this recognition, employers must meet at least one of a number of safety criteria, including working one million or more safe work hours without a lost-time injury or illness. The plant surpassed five million hours without a lost time accident during 2019 and achieved six million hours on July 1, 2020.

The Belton plant opened in 1995, and they produce right angle worm, helical and modular gear boxes for a variety of industries including food and beverage, grain handling, water/wastewater, and unit handling.
