Today’s smart buildings demand simple integration across systems, and an environment that keeps buildings and occupants safe. The new ABB Cylon® FLXeon® is a connected IP controller line that provides powerful connectivity and advanced control monitoring and analysis for the smart building space.
For efficient and easier management, the ABB Cylon® FLXeon® line natively supports standardized industry open protocols straight out of the box and includes BTL (BACnet Testing Laboratories) certification across the system’s hardware and software components. Its BACnet certification delivers interoperability and communication between various devices in building control systems.
When FLXeon is combined with ABB’s award-winning ASPECT® platform, users can benefit from enhanced design and operational efficiencies. With ASPECT®, operators can view and modify information including trends, setpoints, schedules and more from their Building Energy Management System.
Thorsten Mueller, Head of Global Product Group Building and Home Automation Solutions at ABB said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of ABB Cylon® FLXeon® IP controllers, further extending our portfolio of smart building solutions. Our holistic, integrated solution for connected smart buildings takes full advantage of the IoT, driving more efficiency in dynamic building systems, enhancing occupant experience, simplifying operations and delivering on energy efficiency goals. The introduction of FLXeon IP reinforces our commitment to writing the future of safe, smart, and sustainable electrification for buildings.”
The two BACnet Building Controllers (B-BC), the FBXi-X256 and the FBVi-2U4-4T, deliver complete flexibility and scalability with point control and easy configuration for the most complex building systems. The FBXi Series is built on a modular and scalable platform communicating on BACnet/IP, with simultaneous multi-protocol communication support. The controller features support for up to sixteen FLX (Field Level eXpansion) series extension modules providing up to 256 points of control, and a dedicated input for Cylon room sensors.
The FBVi-2U4-4T is easy to program and suitable for controlling single duct or fan assisted Variable Air Volume (VAV) zoning applications. With ABB Cylon’s patented technology, the VAV can be configured as analog / digital outputs or voltage inputs, which makes it easier to change the program and point capacity on the controller.
