ABB has been ranked among the TOP-5 employers in Finland for multiple years in a row. This year, over 14 000 students participated in the Universum study of which 2 793 were engineering students.

“Students are a very valuable target audience for us, and we highly appreciate their insight”, Maria Pasanen, University Relations, Early Talents & Employer Branding Specialist from ABB Finland states. “We’ve been strong among engineering students in previous years, and it’s great to get that high recognition again. Warm thanks!"

ABB does sustained work in employer branding and university relations. For example, ABB offers numerous summer internships, internship positions, and final thesis opportunities.

“We want to support students from early on in their careers. These results encourage us continue important work with students through university relations”, says Maria. "Last year, we also developed new ways of collaborating. As a result, engineering students found ABB as the best realizer of virtual event implementations during the exceptional time."

Towards more sustainable future with diverse and inclusive culture

In the recent Universum survey, the students emphasized for example the opportunity to drive change. “At ABB, several hundred students get to familiarize themselves to working life in interesting roles every year and at the same time get involved in the ways how ABB builds a more sustainable and diverse future,” says Maria.

With its 2030 Sustainability Strategy released in November 2020, ABB will focus on areas where it, as a global technology leader, can have the greatest impact: enabling a low-carbon society, preserving natural resources and promoting social progress around the world.

ABB's sustainability strategy also includes a global diversity and inclusion strategy 2030. Our goal is to double the proportion of women in ABB management positions globally by 2030. The goal is part of ABB's broader efforts to promote inclusion and equality in all areas of diversity, including gender, skills, generations, ethnicity and HLBTQ +. ABB's strong values - Courage, Care, Curiosity and Collaboration - as well as a friendly and inspiring operating culture, in turn support employees’ excellence.
