ABB has expanded its range of door communication solutions with the new Video Indoor Station 7’’. The new device will now make it even easier for more people to enjoy the security and comfort of video intercom technology in their homes.
The worldwide popularity of video intercoms continues to grow. The global market for these devices was valued at $17.8 billion in 2018, with year-on-year demand forecast to rise by 12.8%*.
The Video Indoor Station 7” is the latest addition to the successful ABB-Welcome range of video panels for door communication. The device combines a large 7-inch display with a slim 19mm design that offers the most essential video door functionalities, including camera integration and a snapshot function. The display’s crystal clear 800x480 resolution sets a new standard in the segment, enabling wider viewing angles and excellent visibility.
Dr. Thorsten Müller, Head of Global Product Group Building Automation, said: “ABB is a smart home technology leader because we believe innovative design creates more value for customers and end-users. With the Video Indoor Station 7’’, everything is simplified. By focusing on the functions that people use and value most, the Video Indoor Station 7’’ makes it easier to enjoy the reassurance of an ABB solution. The Video Indoor Station 7” will help bring the security and comfort of video intercom technology to more homes.”
The Video Indoor Station 7’’ enjoys ABB’s premium look and feel. The brand’s simple interface and graphics make the device user-friendly with intuitive, fingertip control of the device’s main functions. Intelligent design prevents operator errors on the compact control panel, with the “call” and “unlock” buttons spaced apart. A separate “settings” button provides the tactile feedback required for finer functionality control. An additional five programmable virtual buttons give the Video Indoor Station 7’’ extra flexibility and personalization opportunities, such as remote control of garage doors.
The clean, modern 7” design comes in white to blend effortlessly into living spaces. Configuring the Video Indoor Station 7’’ is also straightforward with ABB’s built-in commissioning wizard taking installers quickly through the process. The device can support up to five intercom connections, all with easy, one-touch accessibility. For larger buildings, up to 40 stations can connect to a single system controller, and with no need for an additional power supply, scaling up the system is simple and makes it more versatile for occupant use.
Müller added: “The Video Indoor Station 7’s compact design and affordability also makes it possible to install video intercom stations in several locations. For larger properties, for residents with limited mobility and for those home-working, this additional level of convenience and comfort is increasingly in demand.”
