ABB will showcase its sun to socket portfolio at All Energy 2018

ABB will be displaying its extensive solar and electric vehicle charging portfolio at this year’s All Energy event on 3-4 October 2018 in Melbourne Australia

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the All-Energy event in Australia and ABB is proud to be one of the Gold Sponsors for the conference at which it will launch many world-class products for the residential, commercial and utility sectors in Australia.

The latest solutions provide the most comprehensive range of solar products for power generation and building applications, alongside future-proof energy storage solutions in residential sectors as self-consumption increases.

David Sullivan, ABB’s Head of Electrification Products for Australia confirms: “At All-Energy this year, we are proud to be showcasing many innovative solutions to the market, across all power ranges for grid-connected and microgrid applications. Additions such as the well-proven PVS980 high-power central inverter, the new REACT 2 residential storage solution, as well as the world’s fastest electric vehicle charger, demonstrate how ABB is developing solutions for today and tomorrow’s requirements.”

ABB will further strengthen its PVS inverter range by introducing to Australian markets a compact and cost effective turnkey solution PVS980-CS compact skid, which is available up to 4600 kW power rating. The solution is using efficient, reliable and easy to maintain PVS980 central inverter that is supported with Australia compatible simulation models and local service team. The PVS980-CS turnkey solution combines inverter solution with the medium voltage transformer and Ring Main Unit into a compact easy to transport 40 feet container sized package.

Meanwhile, the new REACT 2 energy storage solution will also be on display, which features a long-life battery with a capacity of up to 12 kWh. REACT 2 delivers up to 10 percent greater efficiencies in energy usage than lower voltage alternatives, along with greater cost savings. With its modular design and integration with other products such as ABB-free@home®. By combining REACT 2 and ABB-free@home®, home owners can make the best use of the electricity generated by their photovoltaic system, avoiding consumption peaks by spreading the electricity load and keeping usage within the capacity of the energy harnessed.

REACT 2 transfers the information on solar energy, home consumption and battery status over a wireless network to the ABB-free@home system access point, which can then control other ABB-free@home devices including heating, lighting, and music. It can even be used to power electric vehicle charging solutions such as the new ABB AC wallbox, and activate new smart functionalities based on energy information. REACT 2 not only allows energy self-sufficiency of up to 90 percent but also makes it faster and more cost effective to harness solar energy.

ABB will also be showcasing the world’s fastest electric vehicle charger at All-Energy this year; the Terra HPC, which was developed to overcome the challenge of range anxiety. This world-class charger only takes eight minutes to add 200 kilometers to a vehicle’s range, which is enough to travel from Melbourne to Apollo Bay, from Sydney to Newcastle, or a return trip from Brisbane to the Gold Coast.

During the two-day conference, ABB will be part of the All-Energy line-up presenting in one of the Electric Vehicle sessions and Microgrid / Offgrid sessions.

On 3 October at 1:40 pm, the Electric Vehicle session will be discussing: The developments in electric vehicle charging technology, markets and financing and will see Wim Elshout, Sales manager for ABB’s Electrical Vehicle Charging Infrastructure, discuss global developments and charging infrastructure considerations for Australia.

On 4 October at 1:00 pm, the Offgrid application session will be examining key growth areas and market outlooks for microgrids, off-grid and fringe-of-grid and will see Juergen Zimmermann, ABB’s Power Grids Research & Development manager, discuss how microgrid technology is a great enabler to integrate and maximize the value of solar and battery storage projects.

At All-Energy, ABB will firmly raise the bar driving next-generation capabilities through its new product development, service and digital offering. Visit ABB Australia on Stand 1928.
