Application and customer

• Ship loading coal conveyor crane
• Customer: the largest terminals on the U.S. Gulf Coast, and the only bulk terminal in the region that provides direct rail access for ocean going shipments. There are two independent ship-loading systems, with its newest ship-loader capable of accommodating cape-sized ocean vessels.

ABB scope

• Replace existing GE DC2000 DC drive with ABB DCS880 drives.
• Modify the existing PLC Control system to include the new devices.
• Provide design engineering for drives and controls. Provide engineering support for electrical and communications systems.
