Energy efficiency expert lecture series 2021

Open to university students and academic staff

Climate change remains as one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time. In order to shape a future-ready workforce that is able to change the way we produce, deliver and consume energy, and to ensure more sustainable economic and environmental outcomes, ABB’s Motion business area in Malaysia has initiated an energy efficiency lecture series which will see leading experts share their views and perspective on the subject.

Open to all to undergraduates and academicians, the quarterly lectures will kick-off on Thursday, 28 October, at 3.00 pm MYT, with two key speakers namely Heikki J Kervinen, Global Product Manager, Energy Appraisal Services, ABB Motion Business Area and Teijo Karna, Service Offering Manager, Digital Solutions for Motors and Drives, ABB Motion Business Area.

The lecture will cover an introduction on energy efficiency and its vital role in combatting climate change. Anywhere energy is used, from food production to water and wastewater treatment, there is an opportunity to improve efficiency. Named as the ‘first fuel’ by the International Energy Agency, energy efficiency simply means using less energy to get the same job done.

Faster action is both necessary and achievable. Join the lecture and find out more about the global and local energy efficiency trends, how to calculate energy savings and the impact of digital adoption such as Internet of Things on energy consumption.

Energy efficiency technology and solutions are available and remains our biggest opportunity for a greener future.
