- ABB booth themed “Partner of Choice for Sustainable Development”
- Showcasing revolutionary NeoGear low-voltage switchgear
- Announcing a strategic cooperation agreement between ABB and CNCEC and Zijin Mining
On November 5-10, 2021, ABB will showcase world-leading digital innovations and electrical solutions at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2021. Focusing on digitization, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence (AI), smart energy management, energy efficiency and asset management, and smart buildings demonstrate ABB’s leading technology which supports China’s goal of “carbon neutrality”.
According to James Zhao, Lead Business Manager of ABB Electrification in China, CIIE serves as an important bridge for promoting trade liberalization and economic globalization and advancing recovery and growth of the global economy. He said: “It is a great pleasure for ABB to attend the CIIE for the fourth time. ABB’s sustainable development in China has benefited from the resilience and vitality of the Chinese economy, and the company has witnessed and participated in this historical process.”
Following the strategy “in China, for China and the world”, ABB makes continuous innovations to meet the requirements of local customers for high-quality development and low-carbon transition. “ABB provides end-to-end electrical solutions from top-level planning to implementation, thus becoming a partner of choice for the sustainable development of Chinese companies, working in partnership to promote social progress and build a more sustainable future”, James Zhao added.
China has made a commitment to peak its carbon emissions by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2060, proactively addressing the climate crisis and accelerating sustainable development.
As a global technology company with business footprints in more than 100 countries and regions, ABB has committed to partner with its customers and suppliers to reduce their emissions by 100 megatons per year through ABB’s leading technologies and to achieve carbon neutrality in its own operations by 2030.
ABB provides a complete range of electrical products and solutions from source to socket and from smart cities, intelligent industrial parks to smart homes. These include intelligent low and medium voltage switchgear, critical power supply, building products and control systems, switch sockets, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers. ABB has integrated innovation into its DNA and is writing a sustainable future with eco-friendly technologies.
To achieve the goal of “carbon emissions peak and carbon neutrality”, China needs to build a new-type power gird that is dominated by renewables. ABB Ability™ Electrification Monitoring and Control ZEE600 implements the design concept of “energy router”, and links, analyzes, optimizes, controls and manages “source-grid-load-storage-end” to maximize the local grid connection and consumption of clean energy, improve the energy utilization efficiency, and help achieve the goal of carbon emissions reduction.
NeoGear
ABB’s latest NeoGear low voltage switchgear version adopts innovative four-pole laminated bus plate technology. In combination with the connectivity and digital capabilities of ABB Ability™ platform, Neogear can reduce switchgear footprint by up to 25 percent, decrease heat dissipation by 20 percent, and reduce operational costs by up to 30 percent.
The switchgear also features “higher-level” safety designs, including eliminating hazardous exposure to live parts. The upcoming 690 V variant will make ABB NeoGear the ideal choice for utilities, food and beverage, data centers and other industries.
Power Distribution
ABB will also be exhibition its new-generation iVD4® medium-voltage intelligent power distribution solution. By deeply integrating sensors, monitoring units and circuit breakers, this integrated solution can help customers achieve condition perception of switchgear more smoothly.
For a more comprehensive view of energy efficiency and asset managment, ABB will demonstrate its ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager via embedded or external gateway. This cloud based platform provides a complete intelligent solution, from asset management on the medium voltage side, energy efficiency and asset management on the low voltage side, and energy consumption management on the building control and end-user power distribution side.
In addition, ABB will also showcase Tmax XT molded case circuit breaker that provides communication capability, TruONE® series automatic transfer switch that features fast switch time of less than 50ms, plug-and-play Ekip Up digital upgrading unit, and E-Hub 2.0 upgraded gateway.
Cylon building automation
In March 2020, ABB announced the acquisition of Cylon Controls Ltd. to expand its building automation and HVAC control product portfolio. During CIEE 2021, ABB will introduce its integrated building automation solutions. To showcase how the solution works, ABB has created an interactive interface, allowing visitors to observe the load changes of each system in the demo by adjusting the set temperature, simulating the switching process of hot and cold water in air conditioning units, and changes of refrigeration station equipment.
Partner of Choice for Sustainable Development for Chinese giants
On November 6, ABB Electrification will sign a strategic cooperation agreement with China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation Ltd. (CNCEC), Zijin Mining Group and many other important partners respectively. In alignment with the new trends of energy revolution and transformation of industries, the fields of cooperation between ABB and these partners include low-carbon and eco-friendly technologies, digital medium and low voltage electrical distribution solutions, and electric power EPC projects etc.
ABB Electrification is actively paving the way to a low-carbon, green, and resilient world, and being an enabler of carbon neutrality goals. Recently, ABB is working with Chinese organizations to promote the broader adoption of high-power DC fast charging technology in China, the application of environment-friendly gas switchgear in landmark projects, and the realization of end-to-end energy management in the industrial park through digital capabilities.
From its exhibition stand, ABB will also debut motion-sensing interactive games about carbon neutrality. To find out more about how ABB is writing a safe, smart and sustainable future for China visit ABB Booth (4.1H B3-005 Technology & Equipment Exhibition Area).
