- ABB showcases more than 40 innovative exhibits from 9 countries at the 4th CIIE
- Launching four new products and solutions to enable energy saving and emission reduction and releasing ABB Hydrogen White Paper for clean energy future
- Providing multi-dimensional technical support for China on its way towards carbon neutrality
The fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be unveiled in Shanghai on November 5. ABB has participated in this annual event for four consecutive years. This year, under the theme of “Partner of Choice for Sustainable Development”, ABB will exhibit innovative products, digital solutions and leading technologies for clean energy, smart manufacturing, smart city and smart transportation at the Technology and Equipment Hall, demonstrating the vast space and high potential for innovative technologies to drive green transition and high-quality development.
China recently published the guiding document on the country's work to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, laying out key specific targets and measures for upcoming decades. Against this background, low-carbon and sustainable development has become a focus of the CIIE. ABB embeds sustainability in everything through the value chain to help maximize the utilization of renewable energy and increase energy efficiency in industry, buildings and transport, by working together with its customers, partners, local communities and government to enable a low-carbon society, preserve resources, and promote social progress.
“ABB has joined CIIE since its first session in 2018 and has cumulatively exhibited more than 130 innovative products and cutting-edge technologies and launched a series of new products and digital solutions, which are important for our market development in China.” said Dr. Chunyuan Gu, Chairman of ABB China, “This year, we will showcase more than 40 innovative products and solutions from nine countries, demonstrating our electrification, robotics, automation and motion portfolio and the latest applications in clean energy, smart manufacturing, smart city and smart transportation to provide leading technical support for the realization of China's 'dual carbon' goal and high-quality development."
CIIE provides a wide platform for showcasing the state-of-the-art technologies to the world. The event has created significant “CIIE effect” in the past three years – helping ABB’s innovative technologies to achieve rapid application in the market. This is the reason why ABB has selected CIIE as the platform to launch more new products.
The ABB AbilityTM Mobile Gas Leak Detection System released at the previous CIIE events makes a successful case. It has been deployed in many cities across China to detect gas pipeline networks and its service mileage has exceeded 500,000 kilometers. Following the big success, ABB will bring its latest Greenhouse Gas Emission Detection System to this year’s CIIE. The cutting-edge detection technology with extremely fast response and high precision has a wide coverage of land, sky and space and will provide solid technical support for China on its way towards carbon neutrality.
ABB NeoGear™, which will debut at this year’s CIIE, is a revolutionary new switchgear, based on an innovative busbar concept. Combined with the connectivity and digital smartness of the ABB Ability™ platform, it offers maximum safety, highest reliability, more flexibility, better efficiency and measurable return on investment.
ABB will also release a high-quality customized cabinet drive ACS880-07C. Developed on the high performance ACS880 platform, the new product is designed based on ABB's rich experience in cabinet design, high safety standards, and the application characteristics of various industries, to better meet customer needs and achieve faster delivery. Equipped with the ABB Drive Connectivity Panel, the new product will effectively help customers in their digital transformation.
ABB AbilityTM Furnace temperature field solution to be launched at the expo is an innovative solution in the field of power generation. It is developed for thermal power units, especially coal power units in their energy saving and emission reduction transformation, and control strategy and process optimization, which can effectively improve the safety, stability and efficiency of boiler combustion and contribute to the low-carbon transformation of power generation industry.
In the world’s transition to a sustainable energy future, clean hydrogen is playing a key role which holds tremendouspotential to help decarbonize the economy, reach climate goals and improve the resilience of energy systems. As the largest producer of hydrogen in the world, China is pushing hydrogen energy to achieve its carbon-reduction goals. To support this effort, ABB will release a White Paper on Hydrogen to partner for our energy future by strengthening the hydrogen value chain.
At the CIIE site, YuMi AI Chinese Calligraphy demo is an interactive workstation integrating dual arm YuMi, visual inertial odometer synchronous positioning technology and AI imaging technology to enable the robot to learn and imitate users’ handwriting. This demonstration can be extended to industrial production, especially suitable for robot rough grinding, polishing and other application scenarios, shorten the debugging cycle, reduce labor costs, meet the new requirements of rapid product iteration, rapid production line switch.
In addition, ABB will also exhibit many digital and smart technologies for improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in power distribution, industries, buildings and transport, such as ABB AbilityTM Smart Energy Management Platform, ABB AbilityTM Digital Powertrain, smart manufacturing solutions for process industries, Azipod® electric propulsion system, ABB AbilityTM Tekomar XPERT solution, and a new collaborative robot GoFa™ CRB15000 workstation.
CIIE also serves as a good opportunity for ABB to learn more about the local market and better serve the local customers. Over the past three years, ABB has received more than 100 government and SOE delegations from all over the country and signed about 70 MoUs with customers at CIIE. This year, ABB will also sign a series of strategic cooperation agreements with leading companies in the mining, metals, chemical and other industries to drive win-win cooperation for industry transformation and high-quality and sustainable development.
Following the solid achievements from the previous CIIE exhibitions, ABB has already signed up for next year’s participation to continue its success story with CIIE.
