ABB wins Supplier of the Year at BPMA Pump Industry Awards 2022

ABB has won Supplier of the Year at the 2022 Pump Industry Awards. The award was presented at a gala awards dinner at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Warwick, on 31 March 2022, and recognises ABB’s technical innovation, customer service and satisfaction, and commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction.

The Pump Industry Awards is recognised as one of the leading award ceremonies in the industrial arena. Founded by the British Pump Manufacturers’ Association (BPMA) in 2000. The annual awards ceremony recognises the pump industry’s best and brightest, and highlights the individuals and organisations that are helping to drive excellence within the sector. First established in 1941, the BPMA aims to serve the interests of UK and Irish suppliers of liquid pumps and pumping equipment through the provision of technical support and training for manufacturers, distributors, operators and purchasers.

ABB’s entry for the 2022 award sought to highlight in particular the company’s Energy Efficiency Movement, an initiative which sets out a range of innovations for motor-driven technology that will be crucial in meeting the UK government’s target of Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. Electric motor systems account for up to 70 percent of all electricity consumed by industry, and are at the forefront of efforts to move to a decarbonised society. ABB is the only manufacturer offering a complete range of SynRM motors at ultra-premium IE5 efficiency levels – delivering far superior energy performance when compared to equivalent IE2 and IE3 induction motors.

As well as winning the Supplier of the Year award, ABB was also nominated as a finalist in the Contribution to Skills & Training, and Rising Star awards, for which ABB UK Drives Product Manager Liam Blackshaw was shortlisted.
