As a global technology leader in electrification and automation, ABB offers a wide range of summer internships for students in various fields. A total of around 800 summer jobs are available for young people in various business areas, including engineering, IT, customer service, sales, development, logistics, and production.
All summer jobs available in Finland can be found at careers.abb/summerinternship, and application period is open until February 12, 2023.
ABB offers a vantage point to international business and the opportunity to work in a global environment. In line with its sustainability strategy, ABB aims to enable a more sustainable future.
"Today, it is important to be able to build a better future through your work. ABB helps its customers to develop products, solutions and services for a more sustainable future, which provides a purpose to the work and motivates a lot," says Saana Aro, who works at ABB in student relations related projects alongside her business studies.
Saana Aro, who works as a Trainee at ABB since last summer, meets students from different universities and colleges all year round. "Young people are looking for a job that provides a purpose to their work." Country HR Manager Henri Hilke encourages young people to apply for summer internships at ABB: "We offer a wide range of summer jobs in both production and office roles." The application period is open until February 12, 2023.
Let's learn from each other
Summer jobs at ABB offer the opportunity to take on responsibilities, apply the knowledge and skills you have learned in your studies, learn new things in a big company, and express your own ideas.
"Summer interns are a valuable addition to our work community, both in our factories and in our offices. It's a real win-win situation: the students get to mirror their studies in the workplace and gain valuable learning and work experience while at the same time they contribute to ABB staff's summer holidays and bring us interesting insights of their own," says Henri Hilke, Country HR Manager, ABB Finland.
"Every year we look forward to welcoming summer employees to our team. We greatly value the input of our summer interns and the fresh insights they bring from universities and colleges which help us to improve our practices and work culture. Therefore, we encourage starting summer jobs with a curious mind and sharing your own ideas."
A flying start to an ABB career
After a thorough orientation and guidance in the early summer, the summer interns get down to business. "Our team leaders and colleagues are used to helping summer interns in line with our values of Care and Collaboration, so do not hesitate to apply for different roles," says Hilke.
After summer internship periods, many continue to work at ABB part-time alongside their studies and move on to permanent positions after graduation.
"It is always a great pleasure when our summer employees find jobs after their summer placements where they can continue to work and develop themselves after graduation. Indeed, quite a few of us started our ABB careers from summer jobs," says Hilke.
ABB operates in 20 locations in Finland, employing more than 5,000 professionals. The biggest sites are located in Helsinki and Vaasa, but summer jobs are also available in other locations.
The application period for summer jobs is open until February 12. Applications will be processed during the application period.
