“ABB conducts extensive testing to guarantee that its products are long-lasting and reliable, even under the most challenging conditions,” explained Jaanus Karu, Engineering Manager for System Drives at ABB Estonia. “Accelerated lifetime testing simulates years of use in just weeks or months, enabling us to identify weaknesses before products reach the customer.” He added that investing in pre-market quality control is integral to ABB’s product design process, aiming to deliver solutions that meet functional requirements and minimize resource use, contributing to industrial sustainability.
The role of Estonian engineers is pivotal, as the Drives Reliability Center supports ABB’s global operations by testing and refining products before their release. Beyond system-level testing, the center also evaluates individual components to ensure maximum durability. This dedication to quality and reliability highlights the unseen effort that goes into product development, ensuring customers can trust ABB solutions in any situation.
