For the first time ABB Baltics are engaging as headline partner of TAB 2019 (Tallinn Architecture Biennale). ABB´s engagement at TAB is the start of a collaboration with architects and interior designers in the region and a new focus for ABB Baltics.
The grand opening of TAB, being the most prominent event for architects and interior designers in The Baltics, takes place from September 11th to 15th. Events to attend during the opening are the vernisage of the Curatorial Exhibition in the Architecture Museum of Estonia, a 2-day Symposium at the Culture-Hub in Tallinn and a late night gala to award the winners of the „Vision Competition 2019“.
Installations in the Tallinn Museum of Architecture and further curatorial exhibitions will be on display until the end of November 2019.
TAB is a festival
Tallinn Architecture Biennale is an international architectural festival dedicated esspecially to architects and interior designers but also to the community. The focus of TAB is to promote architectural culture on diverse events and in different contexts. It aims to inspire by a creative view on the future of the build environment but addresses as well typical issues of architecture.
TAB is now taking place for the 5th time and is developing a more and more global character.
Chief curator of TAB 2019 is architect Dr. Yael Reisner, who studied architecture in Tel Aviv. After a career as architect she became an academic to teach at numerous universities. Together with her well-known husband, Sir Peter Cook, she nowadays lives in London.
ABB shows a global vision at TAB
As Architects are the consultants to their clients, the importance for us to highlight ABB´s architecturally relevant product portfolio to them is evident. TAB provides the opportunity to become visible to architects!
Without working on an intense contact to the architectural scene and building a strong network with architects, we will not be able to transport our message. TAB offers the chance to share visions of future technologies and get connected.
Support from ABB International
In preparation for TAB, we have support from ABB Germany. Katrin Förster (ABB´s International Key Account Manager for architects) has initiated our headline partnership with TAB and will be present througout the festival. Katrin is responsible for the entire field at a global level and organises partnerships, awards and collaborations with the architectural scene internationally.
ABB involvement at TAB
At a two-day symposium in the Tallinn Creative Hub, ABB will set up a lounge area with our visuals, where architects can spend quality time and make contacts with ABB colleagues and other architects. The lounge area offers a superb fundament to us to start networking, while architects are enjoying drinks and snacks. To draw attention we will also display an ABB collaboration robot, YuMi, whose robotic hands will hand out hundreds of cups of coffee.
In addition to the lounge area and being part of the symposium and club events (ABB Speakers), ABB will also help to carry out the TAB 2019 installation exhibition at the Estonian Museum of Architecture. Our building automation sales specialist Eduard Smagin, will provide suitable lighting solutions to create the right atmosphere and emotion.
Mission to Zero
During the symposium days, ABB performers are going to represent our vision of where the world and ABB are moving in terms of building automation and smart solutions. While the symposium and the Curatorial Exhibition in the Museum are events for the audience to purchase a ticket for, smaller club events are also held during TAB that are designed for a wider audience and free to everyone. At the Club event e.g. ABB plans to highlight more of our competences in how digital automation and smart electrification solutions can sort out today´s challenges and make our world a safer, healthier, more comfortable, less energy consuming and regenerating place.
