Beijing Daxing International Airport building is approximately 1.4 million square meters, creating a super-large international airline hub built on the border of Daxing District of Beijing and Guangyang District of Langfang, Hebei Province. The 1st phase, the core section of the terminal building, was completed on June 30 and is expected to be put into use officially on September 25 this year.
As a global leader in electrification, ABB takes an active part in the construction, providing leading medium- and low-voltage electrical solutions to ensure continuity of power supply, improved system operation efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
For the power distribution room and lighting & power distribution box in the core section of the airport (main terminal building, service building and parking building), ABB provided low-voltage power distribution solutions, including low-voltage components such as Emax 2 air circuit breaker, Tmax molded case circuit breaker, and S200 miniature circuit breaker. At the China Southern Airlines base in Beijing Daxing International Airport, ABB provided 127 panels of UniGear ZS1 medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear to ensure the long-term stable operation of the power system.
James Zhao, lead business manager, Electrification business, ABB China, said that ABB's technologies and products have been successfully applied at Beijing Daxing International Airport, which reflects the customers' high recognition and trust of ABB's solutions and further consolidates ABB's position as the partner of choice. In the future, ABB will provide more innovative products and system solutions to support China's construction of a safer, more comfortable, more efficient and sustainable modern air traffic system, and help meet the transportation demands, and enhance the development of cross-regional economies.
