UNITROL® 1000 Series

The UNITROL® 1000 Series is ABB’s brushless excitation system for applications using synchronous machines ranging from 100kVA to 80MVA.

Deployed in 20,000+ installations all over the world, the UNITROL® 1000 Series applies to power generation plants, marine electrical propulsion and auxiliary supply, diesel electric locomotives, harbor cranes and mining trucks.

In combination with automation and electrical systems, rotating machine control, instrumentation and advanced digital services, ABB’s excitation system constitutes a complete and solid package to serve all power generation facilities.

UNITROL® 1020

UNITROL 1020 is the voltage regulator intended for small and medium synchronous generators and industrial machines. It combines performance control and power circuits with a simple mechanical design provides high performance in a wide range of temperature and vibration conditions .

With built-in dual channel support, advanced load sharing between machines operating in parallel, rotating diode monitoring, automatic synchronizing and several integrated communication options, this automatic voltage regulator (AVR) is manufactured using the most advanced microprocessor technology and IGBT semiconductors allowing current output up to 20 ADC for continuous operation.

UNITROL® 1010

UNITROL® 1010 is the Indirect Excitation System for small and medium synchronous generators and industrial machines. Its advanced microprocessor technology and IGBT semiconductors allow for current output up to 10 ADC for continuous operation.

With built-in dual channel support, advanced load sharing between machines operating in parallel, rotating diode monitoring, automatic synchronizing and several integrated communication options, UNITROL 1010 provides high performance in a wide range of temperature and vibration conditions.

UNITROL® 1005

UNITROL 1005 is the smaller component of the family designed for low-end excitation application with maximum excitation current up to 5 ADC. 

Like all UNITROL1000 products, UNITROL 1005 is based on the same target software source code and share the same simulation models that makes it very suitable for demanding grid code applications.
Included in the package is CMT1000, the tool for focused and fast commissioning.

UNITROL® 1000 Flex Systems

UNITROL® 1000 FLEX Systems are prepackaged solutions for applications requiring single or dual channel controllers. All systems are fitted with UNITROL® 1020 FULL as a standard device, leveraging the best solution for optimum price and flexible project adjustment constraints.

Following rapid transition towards standard applications, the solution is gathering all features needed for an excitation system. The prepackaged solution allows you to design your excitation system in the most flexible and cost oriented way.
