ABB’s Network Platform 800 for on-line high-performance measurement scanning offers papermakers the ability to apply the highest quality measurement technology on all applications. The advanced frame technology provides excellent strength-to-size ratio providing cost-effective installation in the tightest locations. This is the most robust scanner of this size on the market for continuous measurement and maximum uptime, designed for ease of maintenance, long life-span and low lifecycle cost even in the harshest operating environments. 

The Network Platform 800 (NP800) is a high-performance platform for scanning of today‘s small-to-mid size paper machines with up to 6.2 meters (244 inches) of trim and up to 8 meters scanner width.

Advanced capabilities include smart diagnostics, easy expansion and complete end column access for all maintenance tasks. These capabilities minimize down-time, startup requirements and installation time. All system electronics and moving parts are fully integrated and completely accessible from the end column for easy and safe maintenance while the process is running. All of which reduce the overall system lifecycle costs.

The scanner provides customers with a stable, solid foundation for precision measurements during the process of making pulp or paper. ABB worked with Irish firm Dolmen to design the scanner to be durable, accurate, and perform well in rough mill environments.
